Our Next Trip
We are currently planning a trip in late May 2014 to Detroit and Toronto to visit Comerica Park and Rogers Centre. We are going to do a three-day trip, staying in each city for a whole day, and travelling in between. I have never been to Detroit or Toronto, so I am excited to visit and experience these two stadiums.
Rogers Centre - Toronto Blue Jays
This stadium is going to be interesting for a couple of reasons. First, this is the only MLB baseball stadium outside of the United States. How is the game conducted? Do they sing the national anthem of the America alongside the anthem of Canada? I think that the possible differences are intriguing, and I am excited to find the answers to these questions. Secondly, since the design is heavily reminiscent of my least favorite ballpark, Tropicanna field, I am curious about how this stadium will have handled its design. I am really hoping that this stadium is able to create a better fan experience than Troppicanna field could. All in all, I think this stadium is going to be an interesting visit. If you know the secrets of Rogers Centre and would like to provide an tips, feel free to contact me at [email protected].

Comerica Park - Detroit Tigers
Comerica Park, which opened in 2000, features a modern stadium design and frames the Detriot skyline in the background. Many of the modern stadiums, while not spectacular, offer solid baseball experiences. I am interested in seeing what stadium will have to offer. I am hoping that this stadium uses a lot of interactivity and offers fan activities. While i suspect that it won't be in the Hall of Fame, Comercia Park could certainly provide a wonderful baseball experience. If you know the secrets of Comercia Park and would like to provide an tips, feel free to contact me at [email protected].

The Journey
We will be flying into Detroit on Friday night and spend the night in the city. The next day we are going to explore the city of Detroit and watch a night game at Comercia Park. Before heading out the next day, we will grab a bite to eat around Detroit, and then head to Toronto. According to Google, the drive should take four hours. We will plan on getting something to eat in Toronto and then relaxing. Sunday we will explore Totonto in the morning before attending a day game at Rogers Centre. We will spend the night in Toronto, and then fly out the next morning.
On our trips, food is (almost) as paramount as the baseball is. My dad and I plan on going to Buddy's Pizza in Detorit and Lakeview Restraunt in Toronto (right next to Rogers Centre).
